BOLT One Key Lock Review

Bolt one key lock

Bolt lock J-bolt and padlock kit

Good afternoon, today’s product review is for the Strattec Security Corporation Bolt lock. Bolt stands for “breakthrough one-key lock technology”. These Bolt locks are designed to work with your truck, auto or SUV keys. The Bolt locks are simple to code and very solid. I received a 2” padlock, a 5/8” receiver lock for ball hitches and a cable lock.

To code the Bolt lock for the receiver and cable locks all you need to do is:
1.) Lift the rubber protective cover.

2.) Tear away the rubber key plug.

3.) Insert your key and turn it clockwise ¾ of a turn.

4.) Your Bolt lock is now coded to your vehicle key.

To code the Bolt lock for the padlock all you need to do is:

1.) Tear away the rubber key plug.

2.) Insert your key and turn clockwise until it stops.

3.) Your Bolt lock is now coded to your vehicle key.

The rubber protective cover on the Bolt lock receiver and cable lock is great for keeping out the elements from the key insert. I am using the Bolt lock cable lock on my tree-stand and the weather here is damp and cold so that rubber cover is appreciated. I also like that the Bolt lock works with your vehicles key and not some other key. You are less likely to lose your vehicle key.

I would recommend the Bolt lock products to anyone. There is nothing whimpy about these Bolt locks. The added feature of using your vehicle key and the protective rubber cover separate the Bolt locks from other standard locks.

Thank you for taking the time to read this review.
Tim Collins.
