While listening to a recent Joe Rogan podcast, he was discussing one of his usual topics about the legalization of marijuana and other items. During the conversation with his guest he made a comment that I haven’t been able to get out of my head. Rogan stated, “That’s like a blind person trying to describe a kaleidoscope.” When I heard that, I instantly had several arguments run threw my mind that are going on in the hunting and outdoors community. In case you are curious what the meaning is behind the kaleidoscope state, I will explain what I think it means.

To me the statement describes the people arguing topics they have no clue about or people that think they know based on what they were told by someone else that didn’t know. It could go on and on but that pretty much sums it.

So how does this apply to other current topics in the hunting community? Well the first thing I can think of is gun control. If you are reading this then I will assume you are part of the Average Hunter Army out there and realize like the rest of us that taking the guns out of the hand of citizens isn’t going to stop criminal and psychos out there. That goes to the old saying “Guns don’t kill people, people kill people”. But blind people out there (not talking about the sight challenged blind people) don’t or won’t accept that. Since they are so ignorant about the topic, they refuse to see the actual facts. Therefore they have the delusion that what they have been told by the other ignorant is the fact so they follow and chant.

Another topic is one that I have covered before but its still hot as ever and that’s crossbow hunting. Who are the ones that are against it? They are the ones that have no idea what a crossbow is actually capable of and will argue them because of others preaching their ignorance. It used to be funny listening and reading others talk about the fantasy capabilities of crossbows, but these individuals have argued the point so much, they refuse to discuss the possibilities of other answers.

There are so many other topics out there in every community like ours where people will fight to death in their close minded beliefs. I don’t have a problem with it as long as they show that they have all the facts. All I can say is “Prove It”
