From Brent Homan

To all fishermen– We are putting together the 2nd Operation Kick Some Bass Tournament for September 21st, benefitting the Freedom Care Warrior Project. For those who know me, you know that taking care of our SOLDIERS is a project close to my heart. This is an opportunity to give back to soldiers by raising money and providing a fun, carefree day on the water. I earned a Purple Heart in Iraq and am now retired, and this is one way I know how to give back. Freedom Care Warrior Project is a NON-PROFIT 501(c)(3) created to help our soldiers! Go to http://www.freedomcarewarriors.org to donate and make a impact in a soldier’s life.

This tournament is intended to be a day of fun for the boater and the Wounded Warrior / Veteran. The Tournament will be a Pro-Am team format. (Throughout these rules and other information, “Pro and Amateur” designations are frequently replaced with “Boater and Non-Boater”.) Weight and standings will be determined by the combined weight of the Pro and Amateur team’s five largest fish. The Pro and Amateur will be working as a team for the day’s event. If any of the amateur contestants (Wounded Warrior/Veterans) require special considerations in order to fish, they must identify that to the tournament director upon registration.

There are no entry fees, and only 60 teams will be allowed to fish. The first 60 volunteer boaters will be paired up with a veteran or active duty soldier. Trophies and prizes will be awarded at the end of weigh in!!! The focus of this tournament is to ensure an enjoyable day of fishing for the soldier, so boaters should plan to spend the day fishing and mentoring his/her soldier on the water.

I am currently looking for sponsors and/or donations for silent raffle items. Contact the tournament director Brent Homan at homan_brent@yahoo.com or Jon Van Winkle Freedom Care Warrior Project Founder at jon@freedomcarewarriors.org
