BYB CREE T6 LED ADJUSTABLE FLASHLIGHT OUTDOOR PRODUCT REVIEW

BYB flashlight

BYB Cree T6 LED Flashlight Kit

Good afternoon everyone, today’s outdoor product review is for the BYB CREE T6 LED Adjustable Flashlight. It is a small, lightweight and durable flashlight. Before I get to the review though I need to include the product disclaimer, I know what a bummer.

Disclosure of Material Connection: I received BYB CREE T6 LED Adjustable Flashlight for free from BYB as coordinated by Outdoor PR in consideration for review publication.

Now that this is over with, lets get to the “nitty-gritty” of the review. The BYB CREE T6 LED Adjustable Flashlight that I received boasts the following features

  • 700 Lumens
  • Aircraft grade aluminum housing
  • 5-mode illumination
  • Water resistant
  • A 26650 rechargeable battery
  • AC recharger
  • 3 AAA battery sleeve
  • White tube for housing an 18650 battery

My first impression of the flashlight was that it is very solid built and bright but was concerned about the quality of the AC charger. I will explain the different features later for a more thorough review. After reading other reviews for the flashlight I could tell there was confusion as to the claim of the lumens so I knew that to verify the 700 lumens I would need to show a comparison. Where I work in the dry kilns at a sawmill the inside of a dry kiln is a dark and harsh environment. In order to see from one end of the kiln to the other when it is dark you need a powerful flashlight. So to test the BYB flashlight I used it to turn a kiln in the dark to see if it would reach the other side. I am pleased to announce that I was able to see completely through the kiln. Therefore, I know the BYB flashlight has power. Now I will break down the highlights of the flashlight.

The BYB flashlight has the distinctive square beam

The popular brand flashlight beam.

Staying with the brightness of the BYB flashlight, as I mentioned earlier, I did a comparison with a popular flashlight that everyone trusts and believes in. I am not going to mention the name of this flashlight but since every one of the mechanics at work has one of these flashlights, I know it is popular. This flashlight states a 740-lumen light so if the beam of the BYB flashlight could closely match it then I figure they are accurate in BYB’s claim of 700 lumens. In my opinion the BYB flashlight is true to the claim of 700 lumens. You can tell the difference between the two flashlights from the beams. The BYB flashlight has the distinct square focused beam. What I like about the BYB flashlight above the popular brand is that the beam can be adjusted where as the popular brand only provides a focused beam. In an outdoor environment the BYB flashlight will provide you with better lighting options as you need them. The 5 modes of illumination are high, medium, low, strobe and SOS. The operation for the 5 modes of illumination was confusing though. There were no instructions on the operation of the flashlight so I had to look it up and figure it out on my own. Turns out that in order to cycle through the different lighting modes you simply need to push the on/off button half way down to accomplish this task and cycle through them. The fact that the flashlight is water-resistant is a great help when it comes to outdoor activities. Below you will see two photos showing the BYB flashlight with the beam adjusted at half way and completely open. As you can see, the more open the beam, the more area that will be illuminated.

BYB flashlightThe 26650 rechargeable flashlight comes with an AC recharger. As I mentioned earlier, I was concerned with the quality of the AC charger. The battery charger seems too simple and quite fragile to me. I do have to give the battery charger credit for doing the job it is required to do though. I do however question how long it will last. I suppose only time will tell. The initial charging took a few hours to accomplish and lasts for a favorable several hours. When you plug in the charger, a red light will come on indicating that the battery is charging. Once the battery is fully charged, the light on the charger will turn green. The BYB flashlight also comes with a 3 AAA battery sleeve so you can use the flashlight if needed while the other battery is charging. There is also a white plastic sleeve included in case you have an 18650 battery and would like to use it in the flashlight. This is a total of three battery options provided to keep the BYB flashlight in operational use.

Since there was no manual included with the flashlight, BYB is creating a manual and has made it available for download at this link; byblight.com.

Light up your night with the BYB CREE T6 LED Adjustable flashlight.

I am pleased with the BYB CREE T6 LED Adjustable Flashlight. It provides the necessary lighting needed for me at work and in the woods. The BYB flashlight comes at about a fifth of the cost as other popular brands of flashlights with similar features and lumens. I expect to get a lot of use from this flashlight, as everyone else should expect as well.

I would also like to invite you to visit their Facebook page and give them a like. Thank you.

Thank you for your time in reading my review and as always, if you enjoyed the read, please share the review with your friends on social media.

Have a great day and enjoy the outdoors,
Tim Collins.
